HKUST Physicist Elected as a Member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences

Prof. LUK Kam-Biu, IAS Paul C W Chu Professor, Chair Professor of the Department of Physics and Director of the Center for Fundamental Physics, has been elected as a Member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences — one of the highest honors a scientist can receive.

Prof. Luk is internationally recognized for his pioneering work in particle physics, including contributions that have shaped the search for new physics beyond the Standard Model. His election underscores HKUST’s standing in fundamental science.
